A brief "Foreword" - I am a visual artist. I worked in the commercial photography business in Chicago for about 15 years with a printing firm. Over those years the pre-press process was completely computerized. Previously one had worked in the dark room, with chemicals, laboriously creating multiple images on a single photoemulsion layer, and then combining that layer with other layers, to achieve the final image. Only when the final image was developed and viewed in the light of day could one see the result of the dark room labor. It was a time consuming and labor intensive process. But today, a digital photo image can be "mastered" in the ambient light of the studio, in actual living color on a computer screen. For someone like myself who worked in the dark for many years, this computer stuff is - simply put - "a creative paradise". The images that you will see here are small "kb", watermarked Web versions of the original megapixel files. The original "megabyte" files can be "mastered" into CYMK "A4" size (and larger), files for commercial printing. We also produce our own "photosilkscreen" type of print via a Photoprinter.
